Kids & Communion
On the Sundays when we celebrate the Lord’s Supper together (usually the first Sunday of the month), we have our 1st-4th graders join in. They check in like they normally would and go to class for about 45 minutes. Just before communion, the teachers escort the kids to the worship center, and they sit in the back center rows. When everyone gets up to take communion, parents or caretakers come back and take their child(ren) through the line with them and go back to where they were sitting. Then afterward, families worship together.
If a child is not ready to take communion, that’s OK! We want them to see their church family celebrating and begin to ask questions.
We've put together some resources to help you as you prepare your child to take communion. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Pastor Gary or Jessica.
