Mission Statement

The Gate Church believes that we are biblically, ethically, and legally obligated to provide a safe and secure environment for our members and visitors who enter our church walls and/or attend church events. As a matter of fulfilling this mission, we believe in doing so we must not compromise the core mission of The Gate: to provide an atmosphere of comfort, worship, and refuge so people are able to seek the Lord, serve Him and each other, and send disciples out into the world.

Goals & Objectives

The Gate Church will identify, select, and train members of the church to serve on the security team.

The Gate Church will have a combination of armed and unarmed security ministry personnel based on each individual’s qualifications and training.

The Gate Church will maintain a non-uniformed, plain-clothes security presence.

The Gate Church will identify spiritually- and technically-qualified members of our organization to be trained and to serve on the security team. These persons will be identified as those with “a servant’s heart and a warrior’s mindset.”

The Gate Church will develop, train, and maintain an effective security presence for all services and for special events where a large number of people are expected to be in attendance.

The Gate Church security team will not be responsible for medical emergencies at this time.

The Gate Church will train ushers, greeters, parking personnel, and elders on the topics of “Intruder Awareness/Response for Church Personnel” and “Compliance and Control for Church Personnel.”

The Gate Church will equip security personnel with pepper spray and train them in its proper use.
